"OFF Maison" - PARIS winter 2010

In addition to the show, OFF M&O events are taking place.  Those are reasons to spend more time within Paris. One of those events – www.parisdeco-off.com, proposes a free shuttle service and will take you into 4 different neighbourhoods, where showrooms will greet you from 10:00AM to 8:00PM, and on Saturday evenings till midnight.

The Left-bank promenade:

PHILIPPE PARENT STUDIO, 45 rue de Bourgogne 75007

In addition, to hosting lighting manufacturer CHARLES, the showroom displays a selection of Philippe’s catalogue.  The draperies are particularly appreciated by a public of connoisseurs.  To get there, take the shuttle to the cross roads of rue de Grenelle and rue de Bellechasse.

PROMEMORIA, 35 rue de Bellechasse 75007

A couple of blocks away, is the most Parisian of Italian designers.  The showroom displays furniture remarkable for the combination of materials used and their treatment. 

From there, hop over to Saint Germain, the church, for a croque-monsieur at the Coste Bros. latest addition to the Paris café/restaurant scene: Café Germain, 25 rue de Buci, and designed by India Mahdavi.  If you feel like sitting at the terrace of a traditional brasserie rather, Café de Flore or Café Deux Magots on the Boulevard, are always good choices.  The shuttle stop is on rue Jacob and rue des Saints Pères, 2 blocks away from the church.  Many showrooms are located on Place Fürstenberg and around the corner from Place Fürstenberg, on rue Jacob.

With a symbiotic relationship to manufacturing facilities in Murano, Italy, this designer of blown glass lighting fixtures marries creativity with technical expertise to provide an ample scope of both classic and contemporary lights and mirrors.  The next step will take you down Boulevard Haussmann to Place de la Madeleine.

CRISTAL ET BRONZE, CUB-AR and ODIOT, 7 place de la Madeleine 75008

There you will see collections of decorative accessories and fixtures made of bronze, silver and obsidian. Those precious materials are shaped into forms designed by renowned designers.   Among whom, Rémy Lemoine, designer of the obsidian tie-back for cub-ar.  Place de la Madeleine is located next to Place de la Concorde.

DESTOMBES, 45 rue Croix des Petits Champs 75001

The fabrics presented here are distinguished particularly for the quality of the manufacturing and the freshness of the looks.   The manufacturer has been recently brought back into business by the energy and passion of the new management team.  The shuttle stop is on rue de Montpensier and rue de Beaujolais.  There, you might want to take a break.  Many options for lunch are available under the arcades of Palais Royal and at different price points.

DECLERCQ PASSEMENTIERS, 15 rue Etienne Marcel 75001

Trimmings, trimmings, trimmings…! The showroom’s display is a pleasure for the eyes.  This alone is worth going seeing.  The shuttle stop is on rue Tiquetonne and rue de Turbigo.

DELISLE, 4 rue du Parc Royal 75003

When it comes to bronze, Delisle is the reference, and has been for three generations, with the fourth generation invested in developing the business further.  Delisle’s catalogue was particularly developed during the Art Deco period, with creations signed by Ruhlmann.  Today, recognized talents continue to design for Delisle.  Nicolas Aubagnac has signed the Papyrus Collection that will be on display. 

GALERIE BECKEL ODILE BOÏKOS, 1 rue Jacques Coeur 75004

This is a Gallery with an interesting exhibition titled: Baroque! Vices, flowers and mirrors.  The gallery is opened on Tuesdays through Saturdays, and is located south of Place des Vosges next to Place de la Bastille.
