In Summer 2005, SHIRALY is given commmission to promote Bassaïstéguy-Masson's custom design know-how.

In 1963 Masson was founded in the Loire Valley - residence to France's Kings. Handcrafting custom furniture, Masson can create precise reproductions of antiques or engineer models exclusively based on designs submitted by architects and interior designers.

'Finishing' is a specialty of Masson's fifteen artisans. After studying the wood, they employ a hand-rubbing technique to apply an appropriate patina, sometimes preferring tint over paint to achieve a particular hue. Masson is closely tied to gilders, tapestry layers and marble carvers, whose craft has built the venerable reputation of French furniture over the centuries.

Masson's "Achilles" (right) is possessed by a few select hotels and palaces. Le Cinq, the restaurant of Paris's George V, has received much fanfare. Not a surprise that Masson crafted the restaurant's most visually-exposed pieces of furniture.
