In Summer 2006, the prestigious Parisian house DELISLE commissions SHIRALY to promote its new 'PAPYRUS' line. Since 1895 four successive generations of Jean-Michel Delisle’s family has defined the art of lighting. Delisle is unique in that nearly all of their creations are original, culled from an ever-growing archive of over 4,000 models and 10,000 designs. Small wonder that Delisle’s clients range from the Louvre and Versailles palaces in Paris to the hotels Plaza Athenee and Essex House in NYC. With a sparkling history of collaborating with designers (such as the Art-Deco artist Ruhlmann) this year Delisle engaged interior architect Nicolas Aubagnac –of YSL Boutique fame– to create the ethereal, ready-to-illuminate Papyrus Collection. These botanically inspired forms capture light through delicate bronze engravings and varied finishes.
